Farewell Lady Thatcher

Good afternoon Americans

Live from Austin, Texas. For Truth, Justice and the American way.

LIKE to remember Margaret Thatcher.</p>
<p>"My policies are based not on some economics theory, but on things I and millions like me were brought up with: an honest day's work for an honest day's pay; live within your means; put by a nest egg for a rainy day; pay your bills on time; support the police."

~ Today is a very sad day indeed. We must say farewell to one of the greatest personalities of the 20th century. Margaret Thatcher was a towering presence. She was a politician that made the difference. She put principle over politics. Most importantly, she always put the well being of her beloved Great Britain first. She had a sterling intellect, commanding knowledge, and a personality that despite her reserved British demeanor, was forceful. She lifted her nation from near ruin from the unions. She and Ronald Reagan faced down the Soviet Union….and on their watch the Soviet Union as we knew it unraveled. To a 30 year old today she is a historical footnote to a bygone era. Trust me Americans, we won’t see the likes of this great lady again anytime soon. They don’t build this model anymore. Sacrifice, honor, duty? Those are the hallmarks of our great military men and women, not a politician, yet she had all of those qualities and many more.

Her funeral will be the largest in Great Britain since Winston Churchill’s.  I am quite sure Churchill greeted her with a Brandy in Heaven and a hearty “Hello Mrs. Thatcher, I have been waiting to see you”. I admired this great leader….and so did President Reagan and the rest of our citizens. She stood for the same values and decency that we do. She stood for freedom, justice and democracy. She stood for “doing the right thing”, even if it is more difficult. She is from a time that is gone with the wind Scarlett. She is part of a legacy of leadership that we have not seen in years. I fear we may not see again. This kind of courage , this kind of grace under withering attack, we shall not soon see again. Rest well and farewell dear soul…thank you for all you gave. It was produced at a desperate time, and you were just the person. Vaya con dios.

Rock on
